The Difference

I got up early one morning, and rushed right up into the day.
I had so much to accomplish that I didn't have time to pray

Problems fast tumbled about me and heavier came each task.
"Why doesn't God help me?" I wondered. He answered "You didn't ask."

I wanted to see joy and beauty, but the day toiled on me gray and bleak.
I wondered why God didn't show me. He said" But you didn't seek"

I tried to come into God's presence, I used all my keys at the lock
God gently, lovingly chided, "My child, you didn't knock"

I Said a Prayer for You Today

I said a prayer for you today
   and know God must have heard
I felt the answer in my heart
   although He spoke no word!

I didn't ask for wealth or fame
  (I knew you wouldn't mind)
I asked Him to send treasures
   of a far more lasting kind!

I asked that He'd be near you
   at the start of each new day
To grant you health and blessings
   and friends to share your way!

I asked for happiness for you
   in all things great and small
but it was for His loving care
   I prayed most of all!!!
